Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data masistv.com processes, why, and how to have it deleted. Data controller: MasisTV (masistv.com), contact: [email protected].

What we collect

  • Registration and sign-in — your name, email address, and when signing in with a social network (Facebook) the profile id, name and, if you allow it, your email and profile picture.
  • Comments — name, email (never published), website (optional), the comment text, IP address and user agent, used for spam protection.
  • Newsletter — your email address.
  • Contact form — the name, email and message you submit.
  • Automatically — anonymous visit statistics (page, referrer, date). The visitor key is an irreversible hash that rotates daily and cannot identify you.

Why we use it

  • to let you sign in as a reader and comment under your own name;
  • to moderate comments and prevent spam;
  • to send subscription confirmations and notifications about new articles;
  • to reply to messages sent through the contact form;
  • to understand site traffic in an anonymised form.

We never sell personal data and never share it with third parties for advertising.

Data received from Meta and other social networks

When you sign in with a social network, the platform sends us only the minimum you approved in the consent dialog: identifier, name, profile picture and (at your choice) email. We get no access to your friends, messages or posts. You can revoke access at any time in that network's settings.

Cookies

The site uses technical cookies for the login session, CSRF protection and remembering your language and colour theme. Advertising and third-party counters, if enabled by the site owner, operate under their own policies.

Storage and security

Data is stored on a secured server; admin access is restricted and protected by a password and two-factor authentication. All traffic uses HTTPS. Comments and accounts are kept until you delete them; anonymised statistics are kept for at most 12 months.

Data deletion

You can request deletion of all your data at any time:

  • Email [email protected] from the address on your account with the subject “Data deletion” — we delete the account, comments and subscription within 30 days and confirm by email.
  • If you signed in with a social network, revoke the app in that network's settings (for example Facebook → Settings → Business Integrations) and email us so we remove the stored data.
  • Newsletter: use the “Unsubscribe” link in any message.

You may also request a copy of your data or correction of inaccuracies at the same address.

Data processors

The site runs on infrastructure provided by Scaleway (Online SAS, France), and traffic is routed through Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). These companies act as data processors: they operate the servers and protect the connection, and do not use your data for their own purposes. We use no other processors, and we never share data with third parties for advertising or sale.

Government requests for user data

If a government authority requests personal data from us, we apply the following rules:

  • Legality check. We verify the authority of the requesting body and the legal basis of the request. Without that, no data is disclosed.
  • Data minimisation. We disclose only the minimum information explicitly required by the request, never a user's full record.
  • Documentation. We record every such request: who asked, what data was requested, on what legal basis, and exactly what we answered.

Advertising and cookies

This site shows ads through Google services (Google AdSense / Google Ad Manager). Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and measure their performance.

Cookies we use

  • Essential — login session, CSRF protection, the chosen language and colour theme, and your choice in the consent bar (the mtv_consent cookie, kept for 180 days). Always active: the site does not work without them.
  • Analytics — anonymised visit statistics. Set only after you consent.
  • Advertising — cookies of Google and its advertising partners, used to select and measure ads. Set only after you consent.

Personalised and non-personalised ads

Personalised ads — those selected from your previous visits to this and other sites — are shown only with your consent. If you have not given it, or you withdrew it, ads may still appear but non-personalised: they rely only on the content of the current page and an approximate location, and never on an interest profile.

Your choice is passed to Google through Google Consent Mode v2 using the ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage signals. Until consent is given, all of them are set to “denied”.

  • The “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page reopens the consent bar, where you can change your choice or reject everything except the essential cookies.
  • Google ad settings: adssettings.google.com.
  • Opting out of personalisation with third-party vendors: youronlinechoices.eu (Europe), optout.aboutads.info (US and Canada).
  • You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.

How Google uses data from partner sites is described here: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Essential cookies are used on the basis of legitimate interest — the site cannot work without them. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only on the basis of your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time without giving a reason. You may also request access to your data, its correction, deletion or restriction of processing — write to [email protected].

For residents of US states (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising without your consent. To opt out, use the “Essential only” button in the same consent bar.
