Over the centuries, Aragats has experienced numerous eruptions and earthquakes, resulting in the accumulation of rocks and layers of tufa. The mountain’s slopes are adorned with deep gorges, the most notable of which are Geghovit and Amberd, boasting depths of up to 500 meters. In the Geghovit gorge, visitors can witness the awe-inspiring sight of three waterfalls, with water drops exceeding 100 meters in height.
