Gegharkunik
Gegharkunik region (Armenian Գեղարքոունիիիի մարզ; also widely spread variant of the name Gegharkunik region) is the region in eastern Armenia bordering with Tavush region in the north, Kotayk region in the west, Ararat region in the southwest, Vayots Dzor region in the south and Azerbaijan in the east (country of 1920). It is the largest region of the country, occupying 18% of the total area of the country. Lake Sevan occupies a considerable part of the territory. The region includes the former Sevan, Chambarak (Krasnoselsk), Martuni and Vardenis districts.
