Wings of Tatev (Armenia) – description, history, location. Exact address, phone number, website. Tourist reviews, photos and videos.

The Wings of Tatev aerial tramway is impressive not only as the longest on the planet (5,752 meters). It stretches over amazingly beautiful places and ends at the legendary Tatev Monastery of the 10th century. The ropeway has reduced the travel time between the villages of Halidzor and Tatev from one hour on a dizzying serpentine route to 10 minutes in a quiet, comfortable cabin. And in terms of tourism, Wings of Tatev has made a breakthrough: a trip here is now almost a must for those traveling in Armenia.

What to see

Each of the cabins accommodating up to 30 passengers “flies” over the Vorotan river gorge at a speed of 37 km/h. The start is at Alidzor, also known as the “Lower” station. Nearby there is a restaurant, a souvenir store and a viewing platform, the latter has a photo map with the nearest sights and a stand with technical information about the ropeway.

The most nimble take the queue in advance – so you can get the steepest seats in front of the windshield.

Departures take place every 15 minutes and the group is always accompanied by an operator. During the journey there is a short tour in Armenian, English and Russian.
